Film for houses and storefronts that cuts heat and glare and helps protect furnishings from fading — without losing the view.
Indiana law — Ind. Code §9-19-19-4. The 30% VLT MAX covers the front side windows, the rear back window, the side wings, and the uppermost part of the windshield; windshield tint reaches no farther than the AS-1 line. Rear side windows behind the front doors are not covered by the 30% rule — the statute lists no percentage for them. The covered windows also carry a reflectance cap of 25% total solar reflectance. VLT is visible light transmission — the lower the number, the darker the film. We install to the legal shade and will walk you through your options before any film goes on.
Medical exemption: a driver whose physician or optometrist has attested to a medical need carries that attestation in the vehicle, and it is renewed annually.
The things drivers ask most after fresh film goes on.
Indiana's rule is laid out in the tint law band above: 30% VLT MAX on the front side windows, the rear back window, the side wings, and the uppermost part of the windshield out to the AS-1 line. Rear side windows behind the front doors are not covered by the 30% rule in §9-19-19-4. We'll confirm the legal shade for your vehicle before any film goes on.
Give fresh film a few days to cure before rolling the windows down. Sliding the glass too soon can catch an edge of film that is still setting. If the shop gives you a specific wait time for your install, follow that.
A hazy look and small water pockets are a normal part of curing — the film is applied wet, and the moisture works its way out as it dries. It clears on its own over the curing period, which runs longer in cold Indiana weather. Don't press on the bubbles; let them dry out.
Clean tinted glass with a soft microfiber cloth and a gentle, ammonia-free cleaner — ammonia can break film down over time. Skip paper towels, scouring pads, and anything abrasive, and wait until the film has fully cured before the first cleaning.
Yes — the shop installs window film on houses and storefronts as well as vehicles. Home and office film helps with hot rooms, glare on screens, and fading, while keeping the view. Send the quote form below with a few details about the project and we'll take it from there.
